Breakfast
Kinetic Art
All of Breakfast's artworks are meticulously designed, engineered, and assembled in-house by an exceptionally talented and multidisciplinary team hailing from diverse backgrounds.
Art, design & technology
Andrew Zolty, the founder of Breakfast and a distinguished kinetic artist residing in Brooklyn, has devoted the past two decades to exploring the intricate nexus between art, design, and technology. In 2009, he established BREAKFAST, conceiving a studio that would challenge the traditional confines of art through the creation of computer-controlled kinetic artworks.
These pieces are renowned for their ability to narrate stories and engage with real-time web data, positioning Zolty and Breakfast at the vanguard of the kinetic art movement. Their work has been celebrated in esteemed venues such as the 2024 Venice Biennale and Christie's auction block, attesting to their significant impact on the contemporary art scene.
Conventional artistic expression
Under Zolty’s leadership, Breakfast has created more than 250 kinetic sculptures that now grace some of the most prestigious collections around the globe, including those at Harvard University, Rockefeller Center, and Tiffany & Co.

World Skies is an interactive kinetic artwork and real-time weather data visualization created by BREAKFAST using their Flip-Disc medium. This artwork allows you to select any city in the world to visualize cloud cover, rainfall, and wind in real-time.
When someone is close and interacts with the piece, a depth sensor sees them and replaces the visualization with a reflection of themselves. The contrast of their image changes based on the current cloud cover – similar to how the sun and clouds affect your appearance when outside.
